Elected Management

David Judd

Chair

I am a retired Civil Servant having retired from the Ministry of Defence (MOD) Abbey Wood, Bristol back in December 2012 after nineteen years service where I had been employed as a Commodity Manager supplying the Royal Navy (RN) with Water Purification plant and equipment as well as compressors, valves and pipeworks. I have been a member of the Bath Probus Club for many years and also a member of the Bideford Probus Club in Devon for about two years or more. The Bath Probus Club is most welcoming and we have different speakers each month providing a most interesting selection of topics.

As a family we have lived in Dubai, Egypt, Singapore and Indonesia where I was Vice-Chair of Governors at a large British International School. Following retirement I was Chair of Governors at our local primary school in Bath for several years.

My main career has been in teaching. After retiring early, I worked as a Counsellor to those seeking to overcome drug and alcohol addiction.

Since then, I have been involved in voluntary work. I chair the Mid-Somerset Festival Music committee and as such am responsible for the administration of the music section of the Mid-Somerset Festival. I am also the Honorary Secretary of other organisations within Bath.

In my spare time I enjoy playing bridge, choral singing and gardening.
